Three ways to practice

Every session is built for the group in front of it.

There is no fixed class list. You tell us who is practicing, roughly when, and where it should happen — we shape the session around that.

Private

One practitioner, or a few

A session designed for you — a birthday on the sand, a proposal at sunset, a quiet reset before something big, or ongoing one-to-one work.

Teams, retreats, celebrations

Offsites, wedding parties, run clubs, family reunions, conference mornings. Bring a group and a rough headcount and we'll place it somewhere that fits.

Yoga in the park, pay what you can

Open community sessions at Ocean Beach Veterans Plaza, with live music alongside the practice. Nobody is turned away for cost, and donations go to people in the community pursuing their life missions.

Four settings

Where the mat goes.

The setting changes the practice more than the sequence does. Pick the one that suits the occasion, or let us suggest one.

Ocean Beach · shoreline

On the sand

Flat, wide beach with the surf as the soundtrack. Best for morning groups and anyone who wants their feet in the water afterward.

Sunset Cliffs · bluff

Above the cliffs

Firm ground, open horizon, and the light doing most of the work. The setting for sunset sessions and small ceremonial gatherings.

oceancrypto.ai · indoor

OceanCrypto studio

An indoor floor for when the weather, the hour, or the group calls for four walls. oceancrypto.ai

Anywhere · live video

Virtual

The same session, delivered live to a distributed team or a group that can't get to the coast. Private and group formats both work remotely.

Who's teaching

Justin DeMoss.

Justin is a wildland firefighter and an exercise physiologist, which is an unusual pair of things to be and exactly why the sessions run the way they do.

The day job is human performance for people who work hard in hard places — hotshot crews, first responders, veterans. He holds a master's degree and the CSCS credential, teaches exercise physiology at Santa Ana College, coaches with Rugged Athlete's wildland firefighter program, and runs operations at Hotshot Wellness, a nonprofit serving the wildland fire community.

Catalyst Yoga is the other half of that work: recovery and steadiness instead of output. The community sessions at Ocean Beach Veterans Plaza are donation-based with live music, and the donations go to people in the community pursuing their life missions. He describes himself as a dirtbag helping other dirtbags, which is about the right tone for it.

Before you book

A few honest notes.

Scheduling is by request

Dates, times, and locations are confirmed per session rather than published on a calendar. Tell Justin the window you have in mind and we'll come back with what's workable.

Pricing is quoted, not listed

Private and group rates depend on headcount, setting, and length, so we quote them directly. Donation sessions are pay-what-you-can, always.

Outdoor sessions follow the weather

Beach and cliff sessions can move indoors or online if conditions turn. We'll confirm the plan with you ahead of the session, not on the day.

Practice at your own pace

We can't give medical advice. If you're working with an injury, a pregnancy, or a health condition, check with your clinician first and let us know so the session accounts for it.

Start here

Tell us what you're planning.

A date, a rough headcount, and the setting you have in mind is enough to get started. Justin picks it up on either channel and passes it to the team.
